What catches people out
- 230V units under 110V titles
- Some third-party sellers list Indian-market models next to the US version. Read the voltage in the title and buy where returns are easy.
- 50Hz motors on 60Hz power
- A transformer fixes voltage, not frequency. Wet grinders built for India run about 20% faster here.
- Induction cooktops in rentals
- Stainless steel and hard anodized cookers often won't heat on induction. A fridge magnet tells you in a second.
